(Citizen Star News) - 2014-02-12 - Today's Wingman's Hangar 56 dropped the bombshell that the Dog Fighting Module (DFM) would be unveiled at Pax East and then be available to the community shortly after. (Plans that were explicitly said to be subject to change.)

As eager fans of Star Citizen all know, the module will be our first chance to fly our ships and try out space combat. It is expected to contain networking code to allow coop and player versus player across the net.

Not satisfied with just breaking the much anticipated news, we also got a view of the Vanduul and the learned that the Scythe would be initially be an AI opponent in DFM. The Vanduul Scythe will eventually be player flyable but that will likely take a while beyond this initial drop.

Citizen Star News - 2014-02-12 - The eagerly anticipated Wingman's Hangar Episode 56 is here. Streamed live on Twitch at 9 AM PST. This was a critical episode in many respects, as the much beloved show is controversially being retooled to adapt to the many changes in CIG. Early feedback has been quite positive. Production quality is up dramatically with an actual soundstage, and the energy and humor of the staff has returned. Clocking in at over 34 minutes, reversing the trend of each show being shorter than the last. A lot details, plans and art was revealed today in the show, making it a must watch.

The big big news is that the DFM (Dog Fighting Module) is planned (explicitly said to be subject to change) to be unviel at Pax East, Boston April 11-13, and be available to the community shortly after. And they are bringing up the Universe servers, the background server cluster for the Persistent Universe, for internal testing now. There was also updates on plans for the Hangar, new hires, gifts from the fans, Physically Based Rendering (PBR) update, forum feedback, MVP "Cryo - If your Gunship was an animal, what kind of animal would it be?", Fan Focus, Chris Olivia talks about and shows off the Vanduul. Forum Feedback was particularly meaty this week with a lot of interesting information being disseminated, matching a commitment recently to deliver "less fluff and more stuff".

(Citizen Star News) 2014-02-11 - Keeping us all up to date, TheRomantics WB has released a new episode of The Hull Truth. Excellent show as usual.

One quibble: the poll on attendance at PAX East is not a vote whether or not to hold the event. The "it's not looking good" misses the point. The yes votes are being totalled as a way to estimate the size of the crowd that will show up.

(Citizen Star News) 2014-02-10 - After a bit of a rough week with people getting frustrated and critical on the forums, response to the newly broken out "10 for the Chairman" show has been met with near universal praise. Previously a segment within the popular Wingman's Hangar show, this new format showed off a more relaxed amicable Chris Roberts who was able to speak more enthusiastically about upcoming features and developments of the Star Citizen universe.
