(Citizen Star/News) - 2944-02-26 - Editors Note: The following is a guest editorial that does not represent the views of the Citizen Star/NEWS or it's staff. It does however bring up salient issues that do deserve to be addressed, and so we present here in the pursuance of an informed populous and intellectual debate.

Salvete. I’m UltraMaud, Grand Alcator of the Moose Legion, and your lecturer for this evening. I’m going to try and discuss some of the various issues that we face in such a diverse verse, and what that means for the broader community of sentient folk out there. This is a fascinating, almost overwhelming time to live in, and sometimes it helps to take a step back and look at the broader context. I hope I can help you do that.

Tonight, we’ll be talking about Operation Pitchfork, and whether or not it constitutes an ethical movement.

  • Staff from all over the world is in LA focusing on the DFM.
  • Hiring! Open positions and new hires.
  • Mining (and so much more) Highlight from the Squadron42 team and we see how that contributes to the Persistent Universe (w/ Idris details!)
  • Rob sez Gladiator "should" fit on the Idris
  • We can expect an incremental hangar patch before PBR!?
  • First ten missions for Squadron 42 by the end of the year.

(Citizen Star News) - 2014-02-19 - Forums are abuzz with the unearthed freelancer variants, plucked out of the data files of the recent patch. And we do mean variant. Missile, Max Cargo and Endurance or Exploration seem to be the themes. Bear in mind that these are most certainly WIP -- not meant to be released and assuredly subject to change.

Video maestro AnythingFPS was quick to post videos. And we have them here (after the break, would you like to know more?).

Original RSI Forums thread here. Posted by user @Scientia, nice digging in those data files!

(Citizen Star News) - 2014-02-18 - Hangar Patch 11 released today, announced last week as a "Housecleaning" patch. Perhaps CIG is learning the trick to "under promise and over deliver"?

Along with pulling down the now dusty holiday decorations, we see dramatic enhancements on the cutlass, much anticipated improvements to the Freelancer's cockpit visibility, enhanced functionality to the firing range, changes to the holotable and a handful of bugfixes.

Cutlass owners may need a tutorial to enter their ship. Check it out here.

Super Hornet owners may want to remove their 'USER' Folder from their Documents \ Star Citizen \ CitizenClient folder. If you applied the "fix" for the turret on Patch 10 it is advised by some to do this BEFORE patching. More info here.

Miles to go of course, before our devs can call it job done. Next big project is said to be the conversion to Physically Based Rendering (PBR). Which will take a while, so we may have to make do with what we have for the time being.

Update 2014-02-19: Wingman's Hangar 57 stated there will be one more interim release before the PBR update.
